In these scene, I tried to recreate the environment found on Miller's planet as seen in Interstellar, giving it a dramatic, dark look while at the same time retaining photorealism.
I modeled the shuttle in Blender and textured it in Houdini. The entire scene was made in Houdini, which I used to create the ocean and the huge tidal wave in the distance.
Textures from Quixel Megascans, custom materials created in Quixel Mixer and Substance Designer, patterns for ship materials made with JSplacement.
Rendered with Matntra, final color grading in Photoshop.
